In the U.S.A., he spent a period with a large New York law firm, working on matters such as securities fraud litigation,
appeal against conviction for bombing (dating back to the earlier 1980’s), and
contract disputes
He then spent a period in the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor in New York.
Later, he was appointed Special Assistant District Attorney in the office of the Manhattan District Attorney, Appeals Bureau, where he handled a number of appeals on behalf of the Prosecution before the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
Mr. Lange currently maintains a practice at 410 Park Avenue, New York.

In Germany, he has both an academic and a practical background
In Munich, he was appointed a fellow of the Ludwig- Maximilians-University Institute of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Legal Philosophy and Legal Sociology.
He continues to be a member of the German law firm of Reinert, Lange & Ziebeil, which has offices in Munich, Berlin and New York.
His professional activity in Europe consists largely of participation in matters involving U.S., Australian, New Zealand and British citizens and/or law. This has included advising, together with a German law professor, the U.S. attorneys acting in respect of the Nazi forced labourer, class action suits, subsequently settled in the U.S. Federal Courts for extremely substantial amounts. Additionally, he has criminal trial conduct experience in German courts, as well as appeal experience in the Bayerisches Oberstes Landesgericht (Court of Appeal).

In Australia, he practices nationally as a Barrister from chambers in Sydney.
In Australia, he practices in both criminal and civil jurisdictions. He has been instructed for the defence in a number of high profile terrorist cases.
He was appointed by the Queensland Law Society, and the New South Wales College of Law, in June and July 2003, to deliver papers on Asset Forfeiture Legislation, as part of the those institutions Continuing Professional Development program. The paper is available through the College of Law. He has also delivered further CPD papers in Sydney, on the two topics of transjurisdictional litigation, and extradition.
In March 2006, he was invited by the International Commission of Jurists to give evidence to its Eminent Jurists Panel on Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights on the practical application of anti-terrorism laws in Australia. He was also invited by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms While Countering Terrorism to provide submissions as part of the Special Rapporteur's study of Australia's counter-terrorism legislation and measures.

In England, he practices as a Barrister exclusively in the Criminal Courts.
In London, he practices from Great James Street Chambers, where he practices in Criminal Law, Trial & Advisory Work, Commercial Criminal Law,
Extradition, Mutual Legal Assistance, and Asset Confiscation. One particular area of specialisation is International Criminal Law. He has also been appointed to the Crown Prosecution Service list of counsel.

He speaks German as one of his two native languages, and has been awarded the Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom by the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich, and the Goethe Institut. He has ability in French. In Dutch, he has speech comprehension and reading ability.
